CenterPoint Energy releases Q2 2026 earnings call transcript
CNP•Capital plan increased
The company lifted its 10-year capital plan by $1.2 billion to $66.7 billion.
The increase includes:
- $800 million for Texas system upgrades
- $400 million for the Downtown Houston project
ERCOT Batch Zero update
CenterPoint said its ERCOT Batch Zero update included over 17 GW submitted, with 14 GW expected eligible, including 10 GW base load. Most of that load is expected to be energized by the end of 2030.
Q2 2026 results and guidance

Incremental spending and demand charges
CenterPoint said the incremental spending is planned without additional equity. The company also estimated demand charges at about $6 million per GW per month as new load is energized.
