Central Garden & Pet names Jason Barnes to succeed J.D. Walker as Garden Consumer Products president in 2026

Central Garden & Pet set a Garden segment leadership transition effective Sept. 26, 2026.

Jason Barnes will take over sales, marketing and service across Garden Consumer Products, replacing retiring President J.D. Walker.

Barnes has been executive vice president of Garden Consumer Products since October 2025. He joined Central in 2006, following a start at Pennington Seed in 2002.

Walker will remain involved as a consultant following his retirement from the role.
