Cerebras Taps Flex to Scale CS-3 Production 7x with New Milpitas Lines
CBRS•Cerebras Systems is partnering with Flex to expand its U.S. manufacturing by adding new Milpitas assembly lines that boost CS-3 supercomputer output roughly 7x through 2026. The build-out includes expanded floor space, automated testing infrastructure and additional skilled technicians to meet surging global demand for high-performance AI systems.
1. Partnership Expansion
Cerebras Systems has formalized an expanded manufacturing partnership with Flex, establishing dedicated production operations for the CS-3 AI supercomputer at Flex’s Milpitas, California facility. This collaboration leverages Flex’s engineering and operational expertise to address specialized wafer-scale assembly, integration and validation processes unique to the CS-3 architecture.
2. Capacity Increase Details
Through the end of 2026, new assembly and integration lines will increase CS-3 production capacity by approximately 7x. The facility expansion incorporates additional floor space, parallel integration flows, advanced automated test stations and liquid-cooling installation bays, ensuring each system meets precision mechanical and electrical requirements.
3. Strategic Implications
By locating the full manufacturing chain—including system-level validation and precision calibration—in Silicon Valley, Cerebras and Flex bolster U.S. supply-chain resilience for high-performance AI infrastructure. The ramp-up also drives growth in skilled manufacturing roles, positioning Cerebras to fulfill accelerating demand from AI model developers, cloud providers and enterprise customers.
