CervoMed reports neflamapimod misses primary endpoint in Phase 2b Lewy body dementia trial
CRVO•CervoMed said its 159-patient Phase 2b trial of neflamapimod failed to confirm earlier benefits on the primary clinical outcome in the overall population, while patients without Alzheimer’s co-pathology showed greater benefit.
1. Trial results
CervoMed announced publication of results from the RewinD-LB Phase 2b trial of neflamapimod for dementia with Lewy bodies. The 159-patient trial did not confirm earlier benefits on its primary clinical outcome in the overall population; greater benefit emerged in patients without Alzheimer’s co-pathology, and higher drug exposure was associated with better outcomes.
2. Further research
A separate study found neflamapimod inhibited inflammatory signaling implicated in cognitive decline. Full results from the trial’s 32-week extension are expected in a separate publication.
