CF Industries, partners break ground on $3.7 billion low-carbon ammonia plant in Louisiana

Project details and ownership
CF Industries joined JERA and Mitsui to break ground on Blue Point One, a low-carbon ammonia plant in Modeste, Louisiana.
The project outlines a $3.7 billion investment, with ownership split 40% CF Industries, 35% JERA, 25% Mitsui.
Additional infrastructure and emissions plans
CF Industries also earmarked $550 million for shared infrastructure to support future ammonia output and fertilizer upgrades at the Blue Point complex.
The plant is designed to capture 98% of production CO2 for permanent sequestration. Linde plans more than $400 million for on-site air separation.
