1. Chainlink Launches APAC Equities Streams
Chainlink expanded its real-world asset infrastructure into Asia-Pacific with the launch of APAC Equities Streams on June 23, delivering high-frequency, onchain price feeds for Tokyo Stock Exchange equities, including Toyota, Sony and SoftBank. The streams provide bid/ask data, consensus mid-prices, market status indicators and timestamps via the RWA Advanced v11 schema, enabling DeFi protocols and tokenized platforms to integrate Japanese stock prices directly onchain.
2. US EV Market Slump and Competitive Pressures
US new EV sales fell 27% year over year to roughly 216,400 units in Q1 2026, shrinking EV share to 5.8% of all new-vehicle sales after federal tax credit expiration curbed demand. Tesla’s Model 3 reclaimed the top spot on the American-Made Index, underscoring competitive pressures that may shape Toyota’s US EV strategy and domestic manufacturing focus.
