Cheniere Energy Partners Marks 10th Anniversary, Targets 60 mtpa After $50 Billion Investment
Cheniere Energy Partners LP marks the 10th anniversary of Sabine Pass terminal’s inaugural LNG export on Feb 24, 2016, when it loaded the Asia Vision vessel. CQP has committed more than $50 billion to Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi facilities, yielding 52 mtpa operational capacity plus 9 mtpa under construction and targeting 60 mtpa by 2028.
1. 10th Anniversary Milestone
On Feb 24, 2016, CQP’s wholly owned Sabine Pass terminal loaded the Asia Vision vessel, marking the first commercial LNG export from the U.S. lower 48 states. Over the past decade, its two Gulf Coast terminals have shipped nearly 5,000 cargoes, establishing CQP as a cornerstone of U.S. LNG exports.
2. Investment and Expansion Plans
CQP has committed more than $50 billion to develop Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi liquefaction facilities. These assets currently provide 52 mtpa of operational capacity, with 9 mtpa under construction, a goal of 60 mtpa by late 2028, approximately 75 mtpa by 2030 and potential growth to over 100 mtpa by the mid-2030s.
