A contract worker died on Thursday following an incident at Cheniere's Sabine Pass liquefaction plant in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, the company said in a statement on Friday.
The incident occurred at about 3:15 p.m. on Thursday and "the contractor passed away after being transported to Christus Southeast Texas-St. Elizabeth Hospital in nearby Beaumont, Texas," the company said.
An investigation into the cause of the incident was underway, Cheniere added. The company did not identify the contract worker or provide details about the incident.
Zachry Group says employee died following workplace incident
Industrial services company Zachry Group, the worker's employer, said the employee was a maintenance worker who died following a workplace incident on July 30 and that it was supporting the ongoing investigation.
