1. Full Restart of Mozambique LNG Project

TotalEnergies and the Republic of Mozambique have officially lifted the 2021 Force Majeure and resumed all onshore and offshore activities at the Afungi site. Over 4,000 workers are now mobilized—more than 3,000 of whom are Mozambican nationals—pushing project progress to 40%. Nearly all engineering and procurement of main equipment were completed during the Force Majeure period. First LNG cargoes are now targeted for 2029. The consortium’s ambitious local content plan is expected to generate up to 7,000 direct construction jobs and channel over USD 4 billion in contracts to Mozambican companies. Additionally, the Mozambique LNG Foundation, endowed with USD 200 million, has already created more than 8,000 jobs and supported 7,000 farmers and fishermen in Cabo Delgado province since its 2023 launch.
