Chesapeake Utilities Corporation has partnered with the Sussex County Vocational Technical School District to provide natural gas service for the new Sussex Technical High School campus, a $249 million, 400,000+ sq ft facility that will increase high school capacity from 1,375 to 1,800 students and support over 3,500 adult learners.

Since breaking ground in October 2024, Chesapeake Utilities has begun constructing a nearly four-mile pipeline extension to deliver natural gas for heating, labs and other building systems, ensuring long-term reliability for operations scheduled to begin in September 2027.
