Chilean Cobalt received a new non-binding letter of interest from the US EXIM Bank for up to USD 375 million in debt financing.
Proposed tenor is up to 15 years; funding would support the La Cobaltera / El Cofre project in northern Chile.
The LOI replaces an expired prior EXIM letter of interest for USD 317.4 million; the larger amount reflects an updated development plan.
Financing is being considered under EXIM’s China and Transformational Exports Program; there is no commitment until due diligence and underwriting are completed.
