CHS Q2 FY26 net income drops 75.2% to $70 million; net operating revenue falls 9.8% to $2.83 billion

CHS posted net income of $104 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, down from $320 million a year earlier.
Net operating revenues fell 9.8% to $2.83 billion; consolidated inpatient admissions dropped 11.4% and adjusted admissions declined 11.7%.
Income from operations narrowed to 13.8% of net operating revenues from 16.3%, while interest expense eased to $206 million from $214 million.
Net income included an after-tax $101 million benefit tied mainly to a gain on divesting one hospital, partly offset by impairment charges.
First-half divestiture proceeds
In the first half, CHS received about $1.2 billion of net divestiture proceeds from selling eight hospitals plus an 80% stake in one hospital.
