Lam Research expects second-quarter systems revenues to benefit from a surge in AI-related foundry orders. The company’s advanced etch and deposition platforms have secured contracts with three leading logic chipmakers, representing an aggregate order value exceeding $1.8 billion. Management cited a 35% year-over-year increase in tool bookings for AI-optimized nodes and forecast a sequential rise in equipment shipments, driven by ramp schedules at two 5-nanometer and one 3-nanometer fabrication facility. These orders are expected to bolster Systems division revenues by roughly 20% sequentially.

2. Third-Quarter Institutional Trading Activity

During the third quarter, CIBC Asset Management reduced its Lam Research stake by 0.7%, selling 2,800 units and ending with 394,526 units valued at approximately $52.8 million. In contrast, Capital Investment Counsel initiated a new position worth $2.24 million, while TFR Capital increased its holding by 286.4% to 8,068 units (approximately $1.08 million). GDS Wealth Management also expanded its position by 7.2% to 118,110 units, now worth roughly $15.8 million. Overall, institutional ownership remains high at 84.6%, underscoring continued confidence among major asset managers.

3. Insider Selling Trends Point to Confidence Shift

Insiders have sold a total of 50,418 shares over the last quarter, generating proceeds of $7.67 million. Director Bethany Mayer reduced her stake by 44%, disposing of 1,298 shares for about $207,700, while VP Ava Harter sold 9,010 shares, trimming her holding by 13.7% and realizing $1.42 million.
