2. Fiscal 2026 Guidance Misses Expectations

The company projected full-year 2026 revenue between $5.9 billion and $6.3 billion, below the $6.99 billion consensus midpoint. For Q2, it forecasts revenue of $1.5 billion, plus or minus $50 million.

3. Segment Performance and Major Customers

Optical Networking generated $1.02 billion, or 71.7% of total revenue, up from $728 million a year ago. Three customers each contributed over 10% of sales, collectively accounting for 47.4% of quarterly revenue.

4. Share Repurchases and Margin Outlook

Ciena repurchased 0.4 million shares for $80.5 million under its $1 billion buyback program. Adjusted operating margin improved to 17.9% from 12.3%, with Q2 gross margin expected at 43.5–44.5% and operating margin at 17.5–18.5%.
