CIF/FOB Gulf Grain-Corn barge bids weaken as exporter demand cools
CORN•Corn barge bids ease at the Gulf
CHICAGO, Aug. 6 (Reuters) - Basis bids for corn shipped by barge to the U.S. Gulf Coast declined on Thursday as grain movement into the Gulf market was met with slowing demand from exporters, traders said.
- At the Gulf, CIF corn barges loaded in August traded at 99 cents over Chicago Board of Trade September CU26 corn futures, down 1 cent from trades a day earlier.
- August CIF corn barges were re-bid at 93 cents over futures, down 3 cents from Wednesday's last bid, and September corn barges were bid at 108 cents over futures, down 2 cents.
- FOB export premiums for Gulf corn vessels loaded in the first half of September held steady at around 122 cents over CBOT September futures, after declining by 6 cents earlier this week.
