Citi expands tokenized deposit service to Japan, UAE
C•Citigroup expanded Citi Token Services to Japan and the UAE. Japan will support USD transactions and the UAE USD and euro; the service is live in seven markets and continues to process billions of dollars in transactions.
1. Service expansion
Citi Token Services uses a private permissioned blockchain to move funds across Citi’s network, aiming to bypass cut-off times. The service is now live in the US, Ireland, Hong Kong, Singapore, the UK, Japan and the UAE.
