Clarivate launched Nexus Connect, an AI gateway for university-licensed content inside ChatGPT and Claude, with five institutions set for pilot deployments. It integrates Clarivate’s Academic AI Platform with library resources, offers entitlement-based access and enterprise-grade security, and enters a broader early access program in July 2026.

1. Product Launch and Purpose

Clarivate introduced Nexus Connect as the first institutional AI gateway to trusted research and learning, embedding a university-branded connector within general-purpose AI chat agents like ChatGPT and Claude to give students and researchers seamless access to scholarly resources and services.

2. Integration and Capabilities

Built on the Model Context Protocol open standard and powered by the Clarivate Academic AI Platform, Nexus Connect brings together Clarivate content, library-licensed materials and third-party vendor services into one institutional presence, with entitlement-based access, configurable scope, extensible architecture and enterprise-grade security.

3. Pilot Deployments and Early Access

Five universities across North America and APAC are among the first to deploy Nexus Connect, with a broad early access program planned for July 2026 to expand the gateway’s reach and gather institutional feedback on its integration and controls.

4. Strategic Positioning

Joining Nexus Extend in Clarivate’s suite of AI-driven academic solutions, Nexus Connect reinforces the company’s strategy to embed transformative intelligence into research workflows and keep libraries central to AI-enhanced teaching and discovery.
