Clean Energy and METIS Power Sign MOU for 1MW-2MW Modular Waste-to-Energy Platform
Clean Energy Technologies (CETY) and METIS Power signed an MOU to develop 1MW and 2MW modular waste-to-energy generators combining METIS’s MEC5700 combustor with CETY’s HTAP pyrolysis for power from municipal, agricultural and forestry waste. The systems target distributed generation and rural energy resilience across North America with future international expansion.
1. MOU Details
Clean Energy Technologies entered an MOU with METIS Power to jointly develop modular waste-to-energy systems. Under the agreement, METIS Power will supply combustion technology, system integration and packaging, while Clean Energy provides its HTAP waste-to-syngas processing technology.
2. Technical Integration
The platform integrates METIS’s MEC5700 external combustor and MPG2000E power package with CETY’s proprietary HTAP pyrolysis, engineered in 1MW and 2MW formats to convert municipal, agricultural and forestry waste into clean syngas for turbine-driven power generation.
3. Market Deployment and Expansion
Initial deployments target distributed generation and rural energy resilience across North America, leveraging the system’s feedstock flexibility. The partners plan to explore commercial partnerships at the International Biomass Conference & Expo and prepare for future international rollouts.
