Clean Energy Fuels Secures RNG Supply Deals Totaling 13 Million Gallons
Clean Energy Fuels extended RNG supply to Ecology Transportation Services, delivering 2.1 million gallons annually to 150 trucks across CA, AZ and NV, and won a 5 million-gallon operations contract with WMATA’s 400-bus fleet. Additional deals in Phoenix, Seattle, Nashville, Scottsdale and Arlington push total to 13 million gallons.
1. Major RNG Supply Partnerships
Clean Energy Fuels announced new RNG supply deals including a 2.1 million-gallon annual delivery to Ecology Transportation Services’ 150 trucks across California, Arizona and Nevada, and a 5 million-gallon operations contract supporting 400 WMATA buses. These flagship agreements demonstrate accelerating fleet adoption of domestically produced, diesel-capable RNG.
2. Infrastructure and Maintenance Contracts
The company also secured infrastructure and O&M agreements in Phoenix for 335 buses (4.7 million gallons annually), expanded Recology’s Seattle and Snohomish stations, maintains over 85 WM RNG stations serving 8,000 refuse trucks, and added contracts for Arlington Transit, Scottsdale refuse vehicles, Nashville Airport shuttles and Fort Smith refuse trucks.
3. Sustainability and Market Position
RNG’s negative carbon intensity rating and lower pump cost compared with diesel address the 28% of U.S. emissions from transportation and nearly 10% from agriculture. These deals reinforce Clean Energy’s leadership in decarbonizing heavy-duty fleets and expanding its fueling network across multiple sectors.
