Clean Harbors names Robert Willett board chairman as founder Alan McKim retires

Clean Harbors named Robert Willett chairman, effective immediately, completing a board transition flagged in May.
Founder Alan McKim will retire from the board, ending more than four decades with the company he founded in 1980.
Willett’s background and leadership
Willett has been an independent director since 2019.
He led Cognex as CEO for 14 years, retiring in June 2025.
Clean Harbors continues to be led by co-CEOs Eric Gerstenberg and Mike Battles.
