Shares of drug developer Climb Bio CLYM.O rise 6.3% to $16 premarket.
The company says its experimental kidney disease drug, CLYM116, showed durable activity and a favorable safety profile in an early-stage trial.
The data came from an ongoing early-stage study in 46 healthy volunteers testing CLYM116, an anti-APRIL antibody being developed for IgA nephropathy.
The company says a single 320-milligram dose reduced levels of APRIL, a protein that helps drive production of antibodies, by more than 90% and lowered disease-related antibodies by about 60% to 75% for up to 12 weeks.
It says the drug had a projected half-life of about 29 days, which could support less frequent dosing; this is threefold longer than Otsuka's 4578.T sibeprenlimab.
Oppenheimer says, "The Ph1 healthy volunteer PK/PD data give clear support to every 12-week dosing, putting CLYM on solid competitive footing in our view".
The company expects initial mid-stage data in the first half of 2027.
As of last close, the stock has more than tripled year to date.
