Clorox up after quarterly results beat
CLX•Clorox reported first-quarter sales of $1.91 billion and adjusted earnings per share of $1.55, beating analyst estimates of $1.88 billion and $1.06. It maintained its fiscal 2027 adjusted EPS forecast but expects results toward the low end of the range.
1. Quarterly results
Clorox said first-quarter sales were $1.91 billion, above analyst estimates of $1.88 billion, while adjusted EPS of $1.55 topped expectations of $1.06. Higher sales volume and cost savings helped quarterly profit, and sales benefited from the addition of GOJO Industries and easier comparisons with last year's ERP-related disruption.
2. Fiscal 2027 outlook
Clorox maintained its adjusted EPS forecast for fiscal 2027 but said it now expects results toward the low end of the range. CEO Linda Rendle said higher inflationary pressures had made the cost environment more challenging.
