CME Group Launches Four E-mini Futures Covering Over 90% of U.S. Market
CME•CME Group will launch four new E-mini futures contracts on June 29, 2026, covering more than 90% of U.S. investable market capitalization. The contracts track the Morningstar U.S. Total Market, Russell 3000, S&P 1500 Composite and S&P Total Market indices pending regulatory approval.
1. Expansion of E-mini Equity Index Suite
CME Group will introduce four new E-mini futures contracts on June 29, 2026, pending regulatory approval. The products cover the Morningstar U.S. Total Market Index, Russell 3000 Index, S&P 1500 Composite Index, and S&P Total Market Index, representing over 90% of U.S. investable market capitalization.
2. Partnerships with Index Providers
The Morningstar agreement marks CME’s first futures offering on its recently acquired CRSP Market Indexes, which underpin about $2 trillion in assets. S&P Dow Jones Indices and FTSE Russell will also support contracts based on their broad-market benchmarks, extending transparent, rules-based indices into the derivatives market.

These additions expand CME Group’s equity index ecosystem to address growing demand for unified, all-cap risk management tools. By offering precise, capital-efficient instruments, the new E-mini contracts enable investors to seamlessly gain exposure to and hedge diversified U.S. equity portfolios.
