In the first quarter of 2026, CME Group achieved revenue of $1.9 billion, a 14% increase year-over-year, and operating income of $1.3 billion. Net income rose 20% to $1.2 billion, while adjusted diluted EPS reached $3.36, up 20% from the prior year.

2. Volume and Regional Growth

Average daily volume hit a record 36.2 million contracts, marking a 22% gain from Q1 2025. Non-US ADV surged 30% to 11.4 million contracts, led by a 33% increase in APAC and a 29% rise in EMEA activity.

3. Revenue Breakdown and Margin Savings

Clearing and transaction fees revenue set a new high at $1.5 billion, with an average rate per contract of $0.652. Market data revenue also climbed to $224 million, and clients benefited from over $85 billion in average daily margin savings.

4. Capital Allocation and Outlook

As of March 31, CME Group held $2.6 billion in cash against $3.4 billion of debt, paid $2.7 billion in dividends and repurchased $536 million of shares. The firm will extend its FICC cross-margining agreement and continue product innovation to support risk management needs.
