Co-Diagnostics Unveils Pan-Ebola and Multiplex Assays, Adds Blood-Based PCR
CODX•Co-Diagnostics and CoSara are advancing a dual-assay Ebola PCR development program featuring a pan-Ebola test to detect multiple species and a multiplex test differentiating Sudan, Taï Forest, Zaire and Bundibugyo viruses. It is designing the first blood-based pathogen assay for its Co-Dx PCR Pro platform to expand beyond swab testing.
1. Joint Venture Advances
Co-Diagnostics and CoSara Diagnostics JV are developing Ebola PCR assays leveraging international infrastructure for localized manufacturing and deployment to support outbreak response efforts.
2. Dual-Assay Strategy
The program includes a pan-Ebola assay for broad detection of multiple ebolavirus species and a multiplex assay capable of distinguishing Sudan, Taï Forest, Zaire and Bundibugyo viruses in a single test.
3. Platform Capability Expansion
Ongoing development of the first blood-based pathogen assay for the Co-Dx PCR Pro platform will extend diagnostic applications beyond swab-based testing, targeting respiratory, tuberculosis, HPV and other blood-borne diseases upon regulatory clearance.
