COFCO International to buy two Brazilian sugar mills from Bunge

PARIS, Sept. 1 (Reuters) - COFCO International has agreed to buy two sugar mills in Brazil from fellow crop merchant Bunge BG.N, expanding the Chinese-owned firm's sugar footprint in the country, the companies said in separate statements on Tuesday.
- The deal will cover the Rio Vermelho and Nova Unialco sugar mills located in the Araçatuba region of Sao Paulo state.
- They had joined Bunge's portfolio after its merger with Viterra, which was completed in July 2025.
- The deal remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
- The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
