Cognex agreed to buy RealSense for about USD 500 million, funded entirely from cash and balance-sheet investments.
The deal adds RealSense’s depth-sensing cameras and 3D robotic perception platform, expanding Cognex into robotic perception and Physical AI.
RealSense revenue outlook and closing timeline
RealSense expects USD 80 million to USD 90 million revenue in 2026, more than 50% growth from the prior year.
Closing is targeted for Q4 2026, subject to customary conditions.
Before closing, RealSense will spin out its Facial Authentication product line into a separate company.
