Cognizant Integrates Anthropic’s Claude to Automate Booking Systems, Targets In-Market Launch
CTSH•Cognizant will integrate Anthropic’s Claude into Travelport’s cloud-native platform to automate booking, refunds and rebookings across airlines, hotels and travel agencies, aiming to cut agent labor by over one hour per day. Initial AI-driven code deployments on Travelport Trip Services are slated for release this year.
1. Partnership Overview
Cognizant has teamed with Travelport and Anthropic to embed Anthropic’s Claude AI model into Travelport’s travel retailing and distribution platforms. The collaboration leverages Cognizant’s engineering to deploy advanced AI reasoning directly into booking workflows.
2. Operational Impact
The integrated solution will automate complex itinerary assembly, exchanges, refunds and rebookings via an MCP interface layer. Travel agencies could save over one hour of agent time daily, translating to millions of dollars in annual productivity gains.
3. Release Timeline
Built on Travelport’s cloud-native architecture, the work focuses first on Travelport Trip Services with a major platform release imminent. Customer-facing AI features are expected to reach the market later this year.
4. Strategic Significance
This initiative underscores Cognizant’s AI Builder strategy, extending its November 2025 Anthropic alliance to drive enterprise-scale AI production. Embedding Claude into core systems aims to shorten software delivery cycles and modernize mission-critical infrastructure.
