Cohen & Steers converted its Future of Energy Fund (MLOIX) into the Future of Energy Active ETF (CSEN), which began trading on Nasdaq with $189 million in assets. This launch expands Cohen & Steers’ actively managed real assets and alternative income ETFs to over $1 billion in assets under management.
Cohen & Steers completed the conversion of its ten-year-old Future of Energy mutual fund (MLOIX) into the Future of Energy Active ETF (CSEN). CSEN began trading on Nasdaq with $189 million in assets under management on June 15, 2026.
The addition of CSEN brings Cohen & Steers’ actively managed real assets and alternative income ETF platform to more than $1 billion in assets under management. This platform now includes five active ETFs spanning real estate, infrastructure, natural resources and preferred income strategies.
CSEN’s strategy follows an ‘energy addition’ thesis, targeting opportunities across the full energy value chain—from hydrocarbon production to renewable energy investments. The firm views the energy sector as attractively valued and anticipates growth driven by rising global energy demand.
