1. Forbes Recognizes Coherent for Excellence

Coherent Corp. has been named to Forbes 2026 America’s Best Companies list in recognition of its strong financial performance, high employee sentiment and solid corporate reputation. Forbes evaluated thousands of U.S. companies across more than 100 metrics in 11 categories, including long-term growth indicators and sustainability, underscoring Coherent’s balanced approach to profitability and stewardship. CEO Jim Anderson highlighted that this honor reflects the global teams who deliver for customers daily, while Chief People Officer Grace Lee noted the firm’s inclusive culture supports continuous employee development and high performance.

2. Launch of Sapphire XT Drives Mid-Power Laser Innovation

On January 15, 2026, Coherent introduced Sapphire XT, a compact 1 W visible laser platform leveraging its Optically Pumped Semiconductor technology. Measuring similar to a smartphone, the system delivers 1 W output at 488 nm, 532 nm and 561 nm—doubling the power of previous models while reducing footprint by over 50%. Intrinsic electrical modulation eliminates external components, lowering integration cost for life science applications such as super-resolution microscopy and DNA sequencing. Optional single-mode or multi-mode fiber coupling and compatibility with the OBIS XT family extend the solution to red and UV wavelengths, enabling multi-wavelength configurations with matched form factors.

3. SPIE BiOS and Photonics West Thought Leadership

Between January 17 and January 22, Coherent executives and technical experts will present at SPIE BiOS and Photonics West in San Francisco. Chief Marketing Officer Dr. Sanjai Parthasarathi will join a panel on co-packaged optics for data infrastructure, while researchers will cover topics from bio-compatible specialty fibers in medical diagnostics to high-power semiconductor laser diodes and diode-pump modules for inertial fusion energy. The company will also exhibit its latest laser, material and fiber innovations at Booth 4805, offering investors insight into Coherent’s roadmap for advanced photonics solutions across industrial, communications and data-center markets.
