Collins Aerospace invests $63M to quadruple Malaysian MRO facility
RTX•Collins Aerospace is investing $63 million to expand its Subang Aerotech Park MRO facility in Malaysia from 46,000 to 164,000 square feet by year-end, making it the primary Asia-Pacific maintenance hub. Digital tier boards, autonomous robots and real-time location systems will meet MRO demand projected to double over two decades.

Collins Aerospace is investing $63 million to expand its Subang Aerotech Park MRO facility in Malaysia, increasing its footprint from 46,000 to 164,000 square feet. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of this year, positioning Subang as the company’s primary maintenance hub in the Asia-Pacific region.
2. Enhanced MRO Capabilities and Technologies
The upgraded facility will support maintenance, repair and overhaul of air cycle machines, heat exchangers, valves and next-generation starters. It will leverage digital tier boards, eAndon systems, autonomous mobile robots and real-time location systems to improve throughput and reduce turnaround times.
3. Strategic Regional Growth and Workforce Impact
This expansion aligns with forecasts that Asia-Pacific MRO demand will double over the next two decades and includes plans to double skilled employment in Malaysia. Integrated smart building management and safety systems are designed for long-term operational resilience and reduced environmental impact.
