Collins Aerospace Opens $69M Polish Facility to Boost Landing Gear Output
RTX•Collins Aerospace opened a $69 million, 22,000 sqm Tajęcina facility to raise landing gear output by nearly 25% and create around 190 new jobs this year. A parallel $100 million investment at Pratt and Whitney’s Rzeszów plant will lift engine component production by 30% by 2028.
1. Facility Expansion Details
Collins Aerospace has completed a $69 million expansion of its Tajęcina manufacturing facility, increasing the site to 22,000 square meters. This expanded plant is dedicated to producing main, nose and wing landing gear assemblies for commercial and defense aircraft.
2. Production Capacity and Job Growth
The new facility increases landing gear system production capacity by nearly 25% and will create approximately 190 new jobs during the year. This investment supports both existing programs and anticipated demand across global aerospace markets.
3. Pratt and Whitney Investment
In parallel, the company’s Pratt and Whitney division is investing $100 million to expand its Rzeszów facility, targeting a 30% boost in rotating compressor and turbine disk output. This expansion is scheduled to become operational by 2028 to meet growing engine demand.
4. RTX's Poland Footprint
Poland represents the largest international presence for the company, with over 9,400 employees across nine engineering, manufacturing and research facilities. The country has hosted RTX operations for more than five decades, supporting both commercial and military aerospace programs.
