Colombia's Isagen sells power assets to EDF, BTG Pactual
BEP•Isagen agreed to sell hydroelectric and solar assets totaling 208 megawatts to EDF Power Solutions and BTG Pactual Commodities. The deal value was not disclosed and is expected to close before year-end.
1. Assets to be sold
Isagen will divest hydroelectric plants El Popal, El Molino, San Miguel and San Matias, along with solar parks Llanos I, II, III, IV and V. The assets have a total installed capacity of 208 megawatts.
2. Capital rotation strategy
Isagen said the sale is part of its capital rotation strategy, which involves monetizing some assets and reinvesting proceeds in new growth opportunities. Earlier this week, it announced that it acquired the Puerta de Oro solar plant in central Colombia from Patria Investments and an Ashmore unit.
