Fastly partners with Comcast on edge delivery across Xfinity
Fastly entered a next-generation content and application delivery partnership with Comcast to push streaming traffic closer to Xfinity customers.
The deal embeds Fastly’s programmable edge software across Comcast’s nationwide network, targeting lower latency, higher capacity and improved reliability for peak live events.
The deployment uses Comcast’s 200-plus edge compute centers to store and deliver content nearer to homes, cutting round-trip latency versus traditional CDNs.
The platform also targets online gaming, real-time security, edge compute and AI inference services through a programmable layer on Comcast’s vCMTS infrastructure.
