Second-quarter results rise on higher net interest income
Commerce Bancshares posted second-quarter net income of USD 159.79 million, up 4.8% year over year; diluted EPS rose to USD 1.10.
Net interest income climbed 12.5% from a year earlier to USD 315.09 million, helped by FineMark loan accretion income of USD 6.2 million.
Non-interest income increased 11% to USD 183.83 million, driven by trust fees of USD 71.51 million, up 28.7%.
Non-interest expense jumped 21.5% to USD 297.07 million, reflecting FineMark onboarding, USD 12 million in litigation expense, and USD 5.4 million in intangible amortization.
Total assets were USD 35.27 billion at June 30, 2026; total deposits were USD 27.9 billion following the Jan. 1 FineMark acquisition.
