Q2 results edge higher as lending and deposits decline
U.S. community bank Commercial National Financial said second-quarter net income and earnings per share rose slightly year over year, while loans and deposits declined.
Net interest income increased 3.9% year over year as interest expense fell, mainly due to a decrease in funding costs. Operating expenses increased, mainly due to higher wages and benefits.
