- Commvault named James Hayes as its first chief public affairs officer on Sept. 8, 2026.
- Hayes will lead government and public affairs strategy across federal, state, international governments and regulatory bodies.
- He previously led federal advocacy, cybersecurity policy and emerging technology standards work at IonQ and Tenable.
- Hayes also ran EMC’s Government Affairs Office in Washington before Dell’s acquisition.
- He served on the staff of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee.
