Comstock Metals received approximately $900,000 in tax abatements from the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development to support its first-of-its-kind zero-landfill solar panel recycling facility in Silver Springs.
2. Facility Capacity and Timeline
The facility is scheduled to commence production in the second quarter of 2026, offering an initial capacity to process roughly 3.3 million end-of-life panels per year, equivalent to about 100,000 tons of recycled material.
3. Economic and Environmental Impact
In its first year, the project will create at least 43 diverse, well-paying jobs and require over $12 million in capital investment; over the 10-year abatement period it is projected to generate more than $7 million in net Nevada tax revenues.
