Conduent agrees in principle to settle New Jersey data breach lawsuit after January 2025 cyber incident

Conduent reached an agreement in principle in August 2026 to settle consolidated U.S. litigation tied to its January 2025 cybersecurity incident.
Cases were brought by individuals claiming they received notices that their personal information may have been affected.
The suits were consolidated in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey as In re: Conduent Business Services Data Breach Litigation.
A joint status report disclosing the settlement was filed with the court on Sept. 10, 2026.
Documentation remains unfinished; court approval is pending; cyber insurance coverage is expected to limit financial impact.
