ConocoPhillips names Andy O’Brien CEO, succeeding Ryan Lance

Konnie Haynes-Welsh, vice president, Finance and Controller, was appointed senior vice president and CFO effective Sept. 1, 2026.
Haynes-Welsh joined the company in 2012, has held finance and strategy roles and served as treasurer. She previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Mariner Energy.
CEO succession and board transition
ConocoPhillips named CFO Andy O’Brien as president and CEO effective Sept. 1, 2026, as Ryan Lance will retire as CEO.
Lance will become executive chair in a transitional role, and O’Brien will join the board.
O’Brien’s background at ConocoPhillips
O’Brien joined Conoco in 1997 and has held finance, planning and strategy roles. He entered executive leadership in 2022 as CFO and EVP, Strategy and Commercial.
