Consumers Energy Reaches 30,000 Customers and Allocates $5M to Bill Assistance
Consumers Energy reached over 30,000 Michigan customers this year via phone calls and in-person events, allocating $5 million to bill payment assistance and offering up to $150 in free home upgrades. It will host outreach in Flint, Battle Creek and Royal Oak and expand Helping Neighbors and Budget Plan programs statewide.

Consumers Energy representatives have directly engaged more than 30,000 customers across Michigan through targeted phone calls and in-person events this year, focusing on communities including Flint, Battle Creek and Royal Oak.
2. Financial Assistance and Upgrades
The company has earmarked $5 million for bill payment support, connected income-qualified households with the Helping Neighbors program offering up to $150 in free energy-saving home upgrades, and promoted its multi-year CARE payment forgiveness plan.
3. Ongoing Initiatives and Future Events
Consumers Energy plans additional outreach events throughout the year, aims to boost enrollment in its Budget Plan for predictable monthly payments, and will continue partnering statewide to help customers manage energy use and lower bills.
