The Container Store liquidated 30% of select SKUs across 98 U.S. locations April 24 to clear space for Bed Bath & Beyond products under a merger integration. Starting in May, stores will phase in a combined Container Store + Bed Bath & Beyond format—BBBY’s first physical retail return since 2023.

On April 24 The Container Store initiated a chainwide event, liquidating 30% of select categories across its 98 U.S. stores to clear floor space and SKUs for Bed Bath & Beyond merchandise. Participating locations opened one hour early April 25-26, awarding early shoppers an extra 5% discount on already discounted items.
2. Phased Rollout of Combined Format
Starting in May, the identified stores will transition in phases to a unified The Container Store + Bed Bath & Beyond concept, merging The Container Store’s organizing products and services with an expanded home assortment from BBBY. Four California sites, including Century City and Woodland Hills, will pilot the new format.
3. Strategic Return to Physical Retail
This integration marks BBBY’s first physical retail presence since its 2023 bankruptcy, supporting its Everything Home strategy by consolidating organization, furnishings, and essentials. The participating locations span over 20 states, with significant representation in Texas, Virginia, New Jersey, and Florida, positioning the retailer for broader national re-entry.
