Corvus Invests $5M in Angel Pharma’s $13.5M Round for Soquelitinib Trials in China
CRVS•Corvus Pharmaceuticals invested $5 million in a $13.5 million financing round for collaboration partner Angel Pharmaceuticals to advance Phase 1b/2 atopic dermatitis and upcoming Phase 2 asthma trials of soquelitinib in China. Angel Pharma plans initial atopic dermatitis cohort results in late 2026 and Phase 2 asthma initiation in early 2027.
1. Financing Details and Corvus Investment
Corvus Pharmaceuticals led a $13.5 million financing round for Angel Pharmaceuticals with a $5 million contribution, reinforcing its position as the largest shareholder with a 49% equity stake. The funding secures resources for Angel Pharma’s continued development and commercialization of soquelitinib in greater China.
2. Clinical Development Plans in China
Angel Pharma is conducting a blinded, placebo-controlled Phase 1b/2 trial evaluating soquelitinib in 48 patients with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis across four dosing regimens over 12 weeks, with potential enrollment of an additional 60–90 patients in Phase 2. A separate Phase 2 trial in asthma is slated to begin in early 2027, following initial atopic dermatitis data readout in late 2026.
3. Strategic Collaboration and Market Opportunity
Corvus co-founded Angel Pharmaceuticals in 2020 to expand its ITK inhibitor pipeline in China and globally, holding board representation and near-majority ownership. This partnership positions Corvus to benefit from localized clinical data, tapping into China’s large inflammation and immunology markets for potential value creation.
