CPC Biotech and Multiply Labs Unveil Robot-Optimized Aseptic Connector for Cell Therapy
DOV•CPC Biotech is collaborating with Multiply Labs to develop the first-ever aseptic connector optimized for robotic operation in cell therapy manufacturing. The robot-compatible MicroCNX Nano Series connector and proprietary interface aim to cut contamination risk, accelerate throughput and fit within compact production footprints.
1. Partnership Details
CPC Biotech, part of Dover’s Pump Solutions Group, has entered a collaboration with San Francisco–based Multiply Labs to integrate robotic automation into cell therapy manufacturing. The partnership focuses on combining CPC Biotech’s fluid management expertise with Multiply Labs’ modular sterile processing robots.
2. Connector Innovation
The teams are co-developing the first-ever aseptic connector designed specifically for robotic grippers. This new solution pairs CPC Biotech’s MicroCNX Nano Series connector with a bespoke interface that enables stable, repeatable robotic manipulation of tubing assemblies.
3. Manufacturing Advantages
By eliminating manual handling, the robot-compatible connector is designed to minimize human contamination risk and streamline workflows. Its compact design also allows for higher production capacity within limited clean-room space, addressing key bottlenecks in cell therapy scale-up.
4. Strategic Impact
This automation breakthrough positions Dover’s Pumps & Process Solutions segment to capture a growing share of the cell and gene therapy market. Enhanced reliability, modularity and scalability could drive future revenue growth as biopharma manufacturers seek cost-effective, high-quality production solutions.
