CPI Aerostructures Wins Orders for 20+ E-2D Hawkeye Weld Assemblies Through 2028
CVU•CPI Aerostructures’ WMI subsidiary secured follow-on orders to manufacture over 20 complex welded assemblies for Northrop Grumman’s E-2D Advanced Hawkeye with deliveries scheduled through 2028. The contract bolsters CPI Aero’s $495 million backlog, including $95 million funded and $400 million unfunded obligations.
1. Follow-on Contract Awarded
Welding Metallurgy, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of CPI Aerostructures, secured follow-on orders from Northrop Grumman for welded structure assemblies supporting the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft. This award continues a long-term relationship and extends production through 2028.
2. Production Scope and Certification
Under the agreement, WMI will manufacture more than 20 distinct complex assemblies using steel, aluminum and titanium, leveraging its NADCAP certification for fusion and resistance welding. These capabilities align with multiple aerospace and defense OEM weld specifications.
3. Backlog Strengthened
The new orders reinforce CPI Aerostructures’ backlog, which stands at $495 million in total performance obligations, with $95 million funded and $400 million unfunded, securing revenue visibility through existing programs.
