CrowdStrike expects AI-driven cyberattacks to rise in volume and sophistication
CRWD•CrowdStrike’s report says AI-driven cyber intrusions will almost certainly increase in volume and sophistication. Research covering May through August 2026 identified four previously unreported threat actors delegating operational decisions to AI agents.

CrowdStrike’s report says agentic AI can autonomously achieve attack objectives, often within an hour, lowering barriers to effective intrusions. Over the next 12 months, some low-skilled attackers could reach effectiveness and scale previously limited to organized criminal groups or state-linked actors.
