CScale raises $145 million for AI networking, with backing from Nvidia and Intel

CScale, a Silicon Valley startup developing a way to connect AI chips with fiber-optic cables, said it raised $145 million in venture capital. CEO Martin Lund said the company will integrate lasers onto chips in a way that keeps data flowing when the lasers fail.

CScale has raised $188 million to date and plans to ship its chips by 2028. Atreides Management, Valor Equity Partners and Premji Invest led the financing round; existing investors Sutter Hill Ventures and Maverick Silicon also participated.
