Cuentas partners with Power Upp USA on West Texas methane-powered bitcoin mining project
CUEN•Planned use of mining profits
Mining profits are earmarked to subsidize Bitcoin Mobile wireless service through customer rewards, enhanced mobile services, cybersecurity, and VPN.
Methane-powered electricity and projected mining economics
The project targets onsite electricity from methane, associated gas tied to oilfield operations, aiming to lower power costs versus grid-based mining.
Phase 1 targets about 1.5 BTC monthly, about $130,000 revenue at an average bitcoin price above $86,000, with profit up to $43,000.
Phase 2 targets up to 24 megawatts, about $1.3 million monthly revenue, and profit of about $430,000, subject to staged deployment results.
