Curis Enrolls First Six Patients, Targets July Dosing and December Data
CRIS•In its TakeAim CLL study, Curis has consented the first six patients and now targets dosing five CLL patients by late July 2026. The biotech expects initial combination therapy data with emavusertib and zanubrutinib in December 2026.
1. Enrollment Milestone
Curis has consented the first six patients in its open-label Phase 2 TakeAim CLL study across eleven activated clinical sites. This early enrollment exceeds expectations for site activation and reflects strong investigator interest in evaluating emavusertib combined with zanubrutinib in chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
2. Study Design and Mechanism
TakeAim CLL evaluates dual NF-kB blockade by combining emavusertib, an oral IRAK4 and FLT3 inhibitor, with the BTK inhibitor zanubrutinib in patients who achieved partial response but remain MRD positive. Participants must have received zanubrutinib for at least 12 months and demonstrate measurable residual disease via the clonoSEQ assay.
3. Future Outlook
Curis plans to dose five CLL patients by the end of July 2026 and anticipates initial efficacy and safety readouts in December 2026. Successful outcomes could enhance complete response rates beyond the 7% achieved with BTK inhibitor monotherapy and potentially shift the CLL treatment paradigm.
