Cyient Semiconductors launched India’s first family of seven GaN power ICs, rated up to 650V, using Navitas Semiconductor’s GaN technology for AI data centers, e-mobility charging, and consumer adapters. The December 2025 licensing deal enables local manufacturing support, supply assurance and begins sampling of these high-efficiency devices by June 2026.

1. Partnership and Licensing Deal

In December 2025 Cyient Semiconductors secured a license for Navitas’s 650V GaN technology, marking a strategic collaboration to develop India’s first commercial GaN power IC family and serve as a second source for select mass-produced Navitas devices.

2. Product Portfolio and Technical Specs

The initial portfolio features seven highly integrated GaN power ICs in industry-standard DPAK packages, combining drive, control, protection, EMI management and current sensing, with voltage ratings up to 650V and significantly lower conduction losses than silicon alternatives.

3. Market Applications and Strategy

These GaN devices address high-efficiency requirements across AI data centers, telecommunications, consumer fast chargers, industrial power systems and e-mobility charging platforms, targeting the rapid growth in power density and thermal management demands.

4. Supply Chain and Manufacturing Plans

Sampling of the GaN ICs begins in June 2026 with enhanced local support and supply assurance. Cyient plans to expand through partnerships with OSATs and a phased roadmap toward indigenous GaN device manufacturing under domestic sourcing initiatives.
